| What makes a Penworthy Prebound Book better? |
 | Penworthy Prebound Books are ROCK SOLID. Penworthy’s sturdy binding features library board that is glued into the covers using strong, high-quality adhesives, side-sewn cloth hinges and reinforcement tape. Our spines are rounded to prevent crushing, cracking, fraying and other visible wear and tear. Computer-scanned covers recreate the original look of the book. Our sophisticated four-color printing process ensures that every cover is bright, colorful and appealing to kids. Heavy-duty, washable lamination helps keep Penworthy Prebound Books attractive. Each Penworthy Prebound Book is checked to ensure it meets the highest quality standards.

| How does The Penworthy Company select its books? |
 | Penworthy’s selection process saves you time by mirroring the selection process librarians tell us they use. We start by reviewing the catalogs from nearly 100 publishing companies. We look at samples of all the books in the preschool-through-grade-eight range and select the best of those in our initial selection process. Each month Penworthy releases 50 to100 new titles selected from the books remaining after the initial selection process. Only the best of the best make the final cut. We select books based on content, illustration and paper quality. We save you time by selecting the best books available. It’s an ongoing process to ensure that Penworthy brings you the finest children’s books in a timely manner. Back to top |

| Ordering Information |
| When will I receive my order? |
 | Most book orders placed with Penworthy ship the following working day. Orders that require complete processing or electronic cataloging items, for example barcodes or spine labels, ship within 2 ½ weeks.
Puppets ship separately from books in order to prevent damage in transit. Puppet orders ship within twelve working days. |
| What if I don’t like the books once I receive them? |
 | You may return any books that don't meet your expectations. If you are not satisfied with any of the books in your recent shipment, please contact us at 800/262-2665 or Info@penworthy.com. |
| Do you provide cataloging and processing? |
 | Yes. From card kits to barcodes to complete processing, Penworthy provides cataloging and processing to meet your library’s requirements. View our cataloging page to download a cataloging order form. |
| Does Penworthy have a catalog? |
 | The Penworthy Company releases new titles every month. Instead of dropping catalogs, our representatives personally show you our books either through personal visits, phone conversations or previews. Penworthy does not publish a catalog because catalogs cannot provide the personal service so important to the way we do business.
The Penworthy Company is unique in that we add 50 to 100 new books to our sales list every month. Look at the New this month tab on our product page or contact your personal representative to find out what’s new. |
| How can I request a preview box? |
 | You can request a preview box directly through your Penworthy representative. Penworthy’s “I Love My Library” preview includes the newest titles on our sales list and a special packet of fun trinkets for your library. Your representative can also put together a custom preview designed around your specific needs and interests. Preview boxes ship the next working day via UPS. Any titles you choose to add to your collection, you keep. Penworthy sends UPS to pick up any titles you choose to return. You can order additional copies of any title in your preview through your Penworthy representative. |
| Do you charge shipping and handling? |
 | Shipping and handling on all direct orders is FREE.
Previewing is always an option, if that is the method of purchasing you prefer. However, Penworthy's shipping cost for a preview is significant so we do ask that if you choose to preview, you share in the cost of shipping.
- Preview orders of $400 or more include a 3.2% shipping and handling charge.
- Preview orders under $400 include a 6.4% shipping and handling charge.
- If you purchase all of the books in a preview, shipping and handling is free!
| Do you backorder? |
 | The Penworthy Company never backorders. We have an order fulfillment rate of almost 100%. You don’t have to wait for your order to come in; the books you purchase are the books that are shipped to you. We help you manage your budget by making sure that your funds don’t get tied up in books on backorder. |
| Do I need a PO to order? |
 | The Penworthy Company does not require that schools or libraries use a purchase order. |
| Do you delay bill? |
 | Invoices are due 30 days from the date of shipment, but you may delay your billing for up to ninety days. When you choose to delay your billing, you receive the invoice with your shipment of books. The invoice is future-dated to reflect the payment in the terms you requested. Your personal representative has experience working with many different schools and libraries and can help you determine what kind of payment is right for you. Back to top |
