Bad Princesses is a new series from Jennifer Torres. In book one, Perfect Villains, princesses are sent to the Fine and Ancient Institute for the Royal (FAIR) Academy for their first day of princess school. Princess Dominga would prefer to be anywhere other than the FAIR Academy. Well, not anywhere. She does not want to be home answering mail for her perfect princess sister, who is destined to be queen one day.

 

She feels all alone at school until she meets Princess Dalia. Dominga and Dalia want to join the secret society of villains at the Bewitched Academy for the Dreadful (BAD). Together they create a scheme to get themselves an invitation to BAD Academy, where they feel they must belong. After they completed their scheme, they received a note from BAD Academy saying, “The picnic you planned was partially unpleasant, but only fairly dreadful. We invite you to try again.” Even though they didn't receive an invite, at least they can try again!

 

In book two, Meet me at Midnight, Dominga and Dalia are back to scheming. They have another chance to prove they belong at BAD. Will their scheme during the Starlight Search get them into the BAD Academy this time?

 

Follow along with this series to see Dominga and Dalia find their friendship along the way. Bad Princesses is a good series for girls who feel like they do not fit in. The series features girls of varying abilities, body types, and heritages. Spanish words and phrases are throughout the books, making it a diverse series for grades 3-7.
